WWW Part 1

Most leadership teams have a polished way of dealing with the person who sees things differently. They nod. They thank them for the input. Then they go with the version everyone already agreed on.

It looks like inclusion. It works like a filter.

The result is a room full of capable people learning that the fastest route to belonging is to sound like everyone else. Nobody chose this on purpose. It built up, one tidy meeting at a time.

I spend my days inside organisations that have started to notice the pattern. The brilliant hire who went silent. The strategy nobody argued with and nobody believed in. The decisions that feel effortless in the room and expensive six months later.

Weird Wisdom at Work started here, with a simple observation: the thinking you most need is usually the thinking that fits the least. You are already managing difference somehow.

Worth sitting with: whether your current method is surfacing the odd, useful idea, or burying it.
