We tend to chase the highs and dread the lows, but here’s a thought: both can be imposters.

The highs can make us overconfident, blind us to warning signs, or make us think we’re “there” when there’s more to learn. The lows can make us doubt ourselves, freeze in fear, or pull back when momentum matters.

Neither tells the full story.

They can misguide us if we treat them as truth rather than signals.

The trick isn’t to avoid highs or lows, it’s to keep perspective, notice what they’re teaching us, and stay steady in the middle. That’s where growth, clarity, and real progress live.

Have you ever been misled by a high or a low? How did you find your middle ground?
