Happy New Year!
Well… to clarify: Happy New Financial Year. Here in Australia, at least.
For me, this really is my New Year. Over the past month, I’ve been reviewing my Commitments and setting fresh goals and actions to guide me through the next 12 months.
A quick note on Commitments: for me, these are my overarching emotional anchors. They’re the big, enduring things that matter most and rarely change year to year. My goals and actions might shift, but they all tie back to these core commitments.
Weird, right?
Shifting my “new year” away from the usual January-to-December cycle frees me from all the “New Year, New Me” hype. It also helps me align my financial planning with my personal and professional goals—because let’s be honest, most goals come with a price tag attached.
Anyone else use the financial year as your reset button?
